A BILL

for

AN ACT relating to unemployment insurance; establishing a system for employers to exempt seasonal employees from coverage under the unemployment insurance system; requiring rulemaking; and providing for an effective date.

coverage under
this article.
Notice of an
employer's exemption
of an employee
under this section shall be provided to the employee i
n writing prior to the employee's acceptance of
seasonal
employment.

No employer shall
exempt an employee under this section during
any period the employee is actively engaged in
seasonal employment.
The department shall promulgate rules and regulations
to implement this section. The rules shall establish a system for employers to notify the department of exemptions made pursuant to this section.

Definitions generally.

(a)

As used in this act:

"Seasonal employment" means service within an industry which employs workers only during a regularly recurring period or periods of fewer than twenty (20) weeks
in a twelve (12) month period. Seasonal employment does not include agricultural labor as defined in W.S. 27
