A BILL

AN ACT relating to regulation of traffic on highways; amending provisions relating to fleeing or attempting to elude police officers; providing a penalty; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

b) and by creating a new subsection (c) is amended to read:

Fleeing or attempting to elude police officers; penalty.

(b)

Except as provided in subsection (c) of this section, e
very person convicted of fleeing or attempting to
elude a police officer shall be punished by a fine of not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00), or by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both.

(c)

Aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten
(10)
years, a fine of not more
than ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) or both
if in the course of committing a violation under subsection (a) of this section the driver:

)

Causes serious bodily injury to any other person;

(ii)

Causes property damage to the property of any othe
r person in amount exceeding five
thousand dollars ($

(iii)

Violates W.S. 31
