Summary/Major Elements:

This bill expands the acts that constitute the felony of aggravated cruelty to animals. Pursuant to this bill, a person commits aggravated cruelty to animals if that person
shoots,
poisons or otherwise intentionally acts to seriously injure or destroy any livestock or domesticated animal owned by another person while the animal is on property where the animal is authorized to be present.

The bill exempts from being considered aggravated cruelty the humane destruction of an animal, accepted agricultural and industry livestock practices, rodeo events, and
the
hunting, capture or destruction of predatory animals or wildlife.
