A BILL

AN ACT relating to local government procurement procedures; requiring local governments and other entities to provide notice of procurement activities as specified; providing exceptions; and providing for an effective date.

Purchasing for
cities, towns

counties
, special districts, joint powers boards
and political subdivision
; notice
.

Unless another method of notice is required by law
, every city, town, county
, special district
, joint powers board
and
political subdivision
thereof
procuring supplies or services in an amount in excess of seven thousand
five hundred
doll
ars ($7,5
00.00) shall provide notice
of any opportunity for members of the public to bid or submit proposals for the provision of the supplies or services
on an internet website or by other electronic means
.
The notice shall
provide all information necessary for an interested
person
to bid or otherwise submit a proposal
, shall be posted sufficiently before any deadline for bids or proposals to allow reasonable notice and opportunity to respond
and
shall be accessible to all members of the public
.
Unless otherwise required by law, compliance wit
h this section shall relieve a

city, town, county, special district
, joint powers board or
political subdivision thereof
of
the obligation to
print, post, advertise or otherwise
provide notice of the opportunity to bid or submit proposals.
