Sponsored by: Joint Travel, Recreation, Wildlife & Cultural Resources Interim Committee A BILL for AN ACT relating to game and fish; prohibiting the sale of wildlife location and identification information meant to aid in the taking of game animals; providing exceptions; specifying a penalty; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1 . W.S. 23 ‑ 3 ‑ 310 is created to read: 23 ‑ 3 ‑ 310 . Sale of wildlife location and identification information for hunting prohibited; exceptions; penalties. (a) No person shall advertise or provide to a hunter for remuneration the location and identification information of any previously scouted big or trophy game animal for the purpose of aiding the hunter in the taking of that specific previously scouted big or trophy game animal. For purposes of this subsection, "location and identification information" means: (i) The geographical coordinates of the location of the animal or any maps, drawings, illustrations or other documents which show the location of the animal; and (ii) Photographs, drawings, descriptions or other information which identify the animal. (b) This section shall not apply to any: (i) Governmental agency, their employees, contractors or designees performing any lawful duties; (ii) Licensed professional guides or resident guides accompanying nonresident hunters as required by W.S. 23 ‑ 2 ‑ 401 and in accordance with W.S. 23 ‑ 2 ‑ 406 through 23 ‑ 2 ‑ 418; (iii) Resident landowners guiding hunters on land owned by or deeded land leased to the landowner as authorized by W.S. 23 ‑ 2 ‑ 401(c) and in accordance with W.S. 23 ‑ 2 ‑ 406 through 23 ‑ 2 ‑ 418; (iv) Any other outfitting or professional guide services provided in accordance with W.S. 23 ‑ 2 ‑ 406 through 23 ‑ 2 ‑ 418. (c) Any person violating this section is guilty of a high misdemeanor punishable as provided in W.S. 23 ‑ 6 ‑ 202(a)(ii) . Section 2 . This act is effective July 1, 201 8 . (END) 1 HB0005
