Subject: Hemp extract registration card for minor. Summary/Major Elements: Under current law, a parent may obtain a hemp extract registration card for a minor under the care of the parent for intractable epilepsy or seizure disorders. This bill provides that a minor include s a person who has reached the age of majority if the person is disabled , dependent on a parent or legal guardian for medical care or is "vulnerable adult" under Wyoming law . ORIGINAL House ENGROSSED Bill No . HB0041 ENROLLED ACT NO. 45, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SIXTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2018 Budget Session AN ACT relating to public health; clarifying that a minor can include a person that has reached the age of majority if the person is dependent on a parent or legal guardian for medical care; making conforming changes; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1 . W.S. 35 ‑ 7 ‑ 1901(a) by creating a new paragraph (viii) and 35 ‑ 7 ‑ 1902(f) are amended to read: 35 ‑ 7 ‑ 1901 . Definitions. (a) As used in this article: (viii) "Minor" includes a person : (A) U nder the age of majority; or (B) Who meets the definition of a vulnerable adult in W.S. 35-20-102(a)(xviii). 35 ‑ 7 ‑ 1902 . Hemp extract registration cards. (f) A registration card issued under subsection (a) or (b) of this section is valid for one (1) year and is renewable if, at the time of renewal, the registrant meets the requirements of subsection (a) or (b) of this section. A card issued pursuant to subsection (b) of this section remains valid after the minor reaches the age of majority until the card expires or is replaced by a card issued pursuant to subsection (a) of this section or renewed under subsection (b) of this section if the person remains a minor as defined in W.S. 35 ‑ 7 ‑ 1901(a)(viii) . Section 2 . This act is effective July 1, 201 8 .
