Sponsored by: Representative(s) Eyre, Dayton, Olsen and Winters and Senator(s) Hastert A BILL for AN ACT relating to safety belt usage; mandating a driver to require any passenger under sixteen years of age to wear a safety belt; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1 . W.S. 31 ‑ 5 ‑ 1402(a) is amended to read: 31 ‑ 5 ‑ 1402 . Safety belts required to be used; exceptions; reduction in fine. (a) Each driver and passenger of a motor vehicle operated in this state shall wear, and each driver of a motor vehicle shall require that a passenger under twelve (12) sixteen (16) years of age shall wear, a properly adjusted and fastened safety belt when the motor vehicle is in motion on public streets and highways. Section 2 . This act is effective July 1, 201 8 . (END) 1 HB0073
