A BILL

for

AN ACT relating to flags and symbols; authorizing the display of the national motto and United States and Wyoming flags in state buildings, schools and the state capitol as specified; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Display of national motto.

If donated as provided in this section, a placard containing the
national motto of the United States,
"
In God We Trust,
"

may
be displayed prominently in the state capitol building,
the
library and

lobby
of each public
elementary and secondary school of the state
,
the lobby of each public building or facility owned by the state
and within the leased space of any building or facility leased by the state
. Any
person may donate to the state through the governor a placard of the national motto for display in a state owned or leased facility as authorized by this section. Any person may donate to a school district a placard of the national motto for display in a school as authorized by this section. Any donated placard containing
the national motto made pursuant to this section shall
also
contain, adjacent to the national motto, an accurate representation of the United States flag and an accurate representation of the Wyoming state flag.

The placards authorized to be displayed by this section shall be displayed in a location clearly visible and readily viewable by the public.
