.

(a)

Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b)
of this section,
no city, town, county, special district or other political subdivision

shall
adopt
an
y
ordinance
, bylaw or other regulation which prohibits
a person
from raising or keeping six
(6)
or fewer
live
chickens within the boundaries of the political subdivision.

(b)

A
city, town, county, special district or other political subdivision
may impose
any of the following
restrictions on the raising or keeping of
live
chickens
:

(i)

A
restriction
on the number of
live
chickens
that
a person
may raise or keep in excess of six
(6) live
chickens;

(ii)

A prohibition on
raising or keeping
poultry

other than live chickens
;

(iii)

A prohibition on raising or
keeping
roosters;

(iv)

A minimum distance which must be maintained between a chicken coop and a residential structure
;

(v)

Any other restriction which
does not unduly burden
the right of
a person
to raise
and
keep six (6) or fewer live chickens.

(c)

An ordinance, bylaw or other re
gulation
adopted

in violation
of this section
is void.

(d)

This section may be cited as the "Chicken Freedom Act".

the effective date of this act

This act is effective
immediately upon completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constitution
