Summary/Major Elements: This bill provides that the portion of natural gas that is used prior to sale to treat by-product water to make the water available for beneficial use is exempt from taxation. ORIGINAL House Bill No . HB0172 ENROLLED ACT NO. 43, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SIXTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2018 Budget Session AN ACT relating to oil and gas taxes; specifying that natural gas used to treat by-product water is exempt from taxation; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1 . W.S. 39 ‑ 14 ‑ 205 by creating a new subsection (m) is amended to read: 39 ‑ 14 ‑ 205 . Exemptions. (m) Natural gas which is consumed prior to sale for treating by ‑ product water as defined in W.S. 41 ‑ 3 ‑ 903 so the water is acceptable for beneficial use in Wyoming has no value and is exempt from taxation. Section 2 . This act is effective July 1, 201 8 .
