Subject: Providing for the appoint ment and conditions of office for the board of law examiners pursuant to Wyoming supreme court rules . Summary/Major Elements: Existing statute requires the Supreme Court to appoint the members of the board of law examiners. This board is responsible for administrat ing and grading the bar admission test. Existing statute specifies the number of board members, the length of the members’ terms and imposes a prohibition on more than one member from the same judicial district . T his ac t deletes these provisions and simply requires that the members of the board be appointed and hold office pursuant to rules promulgated by the Supreme Court. ORIGINAL Senate File No . SF0057 ENROLLED ACT NO. 43, SENATE SIXTY-FOURTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2018 Budget Session AN ACT relating to attorneys at law; providing for the appointment and conditions of office of the board of law examiners pursuant to Wyoming supreme court rules; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1 . W.S. 33 ‑ 5 ‑ 101 is amended to read: 33 ‑ 5 ‑ 101 . State board of law examiners; appointment. The state board of law examiners shall consist of five (5) members of the bar of at least five (5) years standing, who shall be appointed by the supreme court , and shall hold office for the term of three (3) years; provided, that not more than one (1) member shall be appointed from the same judicial district. In case a vacancy shall occur by death, resignation or otherwise, the same shall be filled by appointment by the court for the remainder of the term of the member whose place has become vacant. Removal of a member from the district in which he resided when appointed shall be construed as creating a vacancy pursuant to rules promulgated by the supreme court . Section 2 . This act is effective July 1, 201 8 .
