This act creates a Retirement Income Security Task Force to study retirement preparedness and retire
ment investments in Wyoming. This
act specifies task-force membership, requires the State Retirement System to staff the task force, and requires a report from t
he task force. Specifically, this
act:

Requires the task force to study and make recommendations on the preparedness of Wyoming residents to retire with financial security
, including the options for private-sector employees to participate in a retirement program;
the number of employees in the state not participating
in an emp
loyer-sponsored retirement plan;
and other programs that may help increase the percentage of financially secure retirees in the state.

Comments:

This act creates the Retirement Income Security Task Force, which includes two legislative members.

This act requires
the task force to report its findings and recommendations to the Joint Labor, Health and Social Services Interim Committee by December 1, 2018.

act appropriates $7,000 to the Legislative Service Office for funding legislator expenses ass
ociated with the task force. This
act appropriates $13,000 to the State Retirement System to fund other members' expenses associated with the task force.
