A BILL

for

AN ACT relating to county coroners; amending the duties of the board of coroner standards to authorize investigations of coroner misconduct during coroner's cases; amending procedures for complaints against coroners and deputy coroners; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

211(c) by creating a new paragraph (viii) and (e) is amended to read:

Board of coroner standards.

(c)

The board shall:

(viii)

Investigate complaints of misconduct by county coroners and deputy coroners during coroner's cases, including complaints that a county coroner or deputy coroner did not comply with the certification standards of W.S. 7

103 or with the standards for investigating coroner's cases promulgated under this subsection.

(e)

The board shall contact the district attorney for the county or the attorney general to initiate an action and may serve as complaining party in an action under W.S. 7

902 to remove any coroner who is not in compliance with W.S. 7

or whose certification has been recommended by the board for revocation as the result of any investigation or review
