Deposit of state and political subdivision money in approved depositories; authority of treasurer; rulemaking.

(a)

The state treasurer may deposit any portion of the public monies in his possession in any bank chartered under the laws of the United States or under the law of any state if the bank is conducting business in Wyoming and has been approved under W.S. 9

, "bank" includes federal and state savings and loan associations. Federal and state savings and loan associations may be designated as depositories for state funds in the same manner as state and national banks.

818 with respect to the deposit of funds of political subdivisions, "bank" means banks incorporated under the law of Wyoming, national banks, savings and loan associations incorporated under the law of Wyoming, federal savings and loan associations and federal savings banks, when practicable, or, when a bank is not available within a ten (10) mile radius of the principal place of business of the political subdivision, an institution approved by the board of deposits.

To the extent they are not otherwise invested, the monies collected and held by a treasurer of a political subdivision, municipality or special district within this state shall
