AN ACT relating to property and casualty insurance; requiring insurers to determine the full extent of damage to a motor vehicle prior to accepting or rejecting an insurance claim; specifying applicability; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Claim to be accepted or rejected; attorney's fee.

(b)

Claims for benefits under a property or casualty insurance policy shall be rejected or accepted and paid by the insurer or its agent designated to receive those claims within forty-five (45) days after receipt of the claim and supporting bills.
For a benefits claim under a property or casualty insurance policy for damage to a motor vehicle, the insurer or its agent designated to receive that claim shall not reject or accept and pay the claim until the full extent of damage to the motor vehicle is determined.

Section 2.

This act shall only apply to benefit claims under a property or casualty insurance policy for damages that occur on or after the effective date of this act.

Section 3.

This act is effective July 1, 2021
