Bills Worth Reading With This One

These pairings are meant to flag bills from the same session that may have a bigger real-world effect when you read them together.

SF0015

SF0015 and SF0117 both relate to licensing requirements in Wyoming, with SF0015 providing temporary authority for boards to waive or modify statutory requirements under certain conditions, while SF0117 specifically addresses the licensure of speech and hearing specialists.

Medium confidence Needs review

Possible combined effect: SF0015 allows licensing boards to temporarily waive or modify statutory requirements, which could affect the implementation of SF0117's specific provisions for speech and hearing specialist licensure. This interaction is particularly relevant in scenarios where continuing education opportunities are not available due to circumstances covered by SF0015.

Why this got flagged:
  • Both bills address licensing requirements in Wyoming, with SF0015 providing temporary authority for boards to waive or modify statutory requirements under certain conditions. This could impact how SF0117's specific provisions for speech and hearing specialist licensure are implemented.
  • This act authorizes licensing and permitting boards to waive or modify statutory examination requirements, continuing education requirements or other statutory requirements for licensing or permitting under certain conditions.
  • Waivers or modifications may last up to two (2) years, at which time the board must report the waiver or modification to a legislative committee.
  • This bill modifies the Practice Act for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists by creating a grandfather provision for professionals who held a valid speech or hearing specialists certificate issued by the Professional Teaching Standards Board.
  • The bill provides that people who qualify under the newly created grandfather provision are eligible to be licensed as speech-language pathologists or audiologists by the State Board of Examiners of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
