Registration; reports.

(d)

Except as otherwise provided in this subsection, a former state legislator shall not become a lobbyist or engage in lobbying that would require registration under subsection (b) of this section for two (2) years, beginning on the day the state legislator's terms ends after not being again elected to the state legislator's office or having otherwise been removed from office and ending on the two (2) year anniversary of that day. This subsection shall not apply if the former state legislator engages in lobbying on the former state legislator's own behalf.

(a)

Any person or individual failing to register as a lobbyist with the secretary of state

shall be guilty of a misdemeanor subject to a fine of not more than
two hundred dollars ($200.00)

Section 2.

This act shall apply to any state legislator who leaves or is otherwise removed from office on or after the effective date of this act.
