A BILL

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

102(b) and by creating a new subsection (c) is amended to read:

Discrimination prohibited; penalties.

(b)

A person who violates
subsection (a) of
this section commits a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, a fine of not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00), or both.

(c)

A person who, with the intent to intimidate or harass another person because of the other person's race, color, sex, creed or national origin:

(i)

Causes bodily injury to another person is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, a fine of not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00), or both;

(ii)

Causes or attempts to cause serious bodily injury is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten (10) years;

(iii)

Defaces, injures or destroys the property of another person is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, a fine of not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00), or both, if the cost of restoring the injured property or the value of the property if destroyed is not greater than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00);

(iv)

Defaces, injures or destroys the property of another person is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten (10) years, a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00), or both, if the cost of restoring the injured property or the value of the property if destroyed is one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or more.

This act is effective immediately upon completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constitution
