Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

501(a) is amended to read:

Simple assault; battery; penalties.
(a)
A person is guilty of simple assault if
:
,
(i)
H
aving the present ability to do so, he unlawfully attempts to cause bodily injury to another
; or
(ii)
He engages in any unlawful act or threatening or menacing conduct that causes another person to reasonably believe that the person is in danger of an imminent battery
.
Section 2.
This act shall apply to all offenses of simple assault committed and charged on and after the effective date of this act.

This act is effective July 1, 2024
