A BILL
for
AN ACT relating to the administration of the government; creating an account; providing for the funding of the peace officer standards and training commission; specifying uses of the account; increasing vehicle registration fees as specified; specifying distribution of fees; making conforming amendments; and providing for an effective date.

Peace officer standards and training commission account; expenditures.
(a)
There is created the peace officer standards and training commission account. Funds in the account shall be invested by the state treasurer in accordance with law, provided that the investments are made to ensure sufficient liquidity for the commission to implement this act. The account shall consist of all funds and earnings deposited into the account from whatever source.
(b)
No funds shall be expended from the account except upon legislative appropriation. Funds in the account shall be expended only by the commission for purposes of implementing this act.

(a)
Except as otherwise provided, the following fees shall accompany each application for the registration of a vehicle:

In addition to any fee required under this subsection, a peace officer standards and training fee of one dollar ($1.00) for each vehicle for distribution in accordance with W.S. 31

101(a)(iv) shall be distributed to the state treasurer for deposit in the peace officer standards and training commission account, except as otherwise provided in this subsection. A county treasurer may retain not greater than five percent (5%) of all fees collected pursuant to W.S. 31
