Bills Worth Reading With This One

These pairings are meant to flag bills from the same session that may have a bigger real-world effect when you read them together.

SF0021

Both bills relate to public utilities and are sponsored by the same committee, addressing different aspects of utility regulation but interacting in their regulatory framework.

Medium confidence Needs review

Possible combined effect: Bill A sets a cost-sharing ratio for electric supply costs between utilities and customers, while Bill B mandates long-range planning and review processes for integrated resource plans. Together, they create a more comprehensive regulatory environment for public utilities by combining procedural requirements with enforcement mechanisms.

Why this got flagged:
  • Both bills address different but complementary aspects of public utilities regulation, with Bill A focusing on cost-sharing mechanisms and Bill B on long-range planning and review processes. Together, they provide a more comprehensive regulatory framework that impacts utility operations.
  • specifying the sharing of electric supply costs between a public utility and its customers in specified cost-tracking mechanisms
  • requires the Public Service Commission to engage in long-range planning regarding public utility regulatory policy
  • authorizes one (1) additional position within the Public Service Commission to implement the review of integrated resource plans under the bill
