3rd reading • Representative Brown, L

Withdrawn

Plain English: The amendment changes the bill to require a study on increasing the number of University of Wyoming board members by seven and electing them in statewide elections.

  • Removes sections that previously outlined specific requirements for increasing the number of trustees and their election, replacing them with a requirement for a study.
  • Specifies that the University of Wyoming board of trustees and the secretary of state's office will conduct this study to determine costs, benefits, and whether a constitutional amendment is needed.
  • Allocates $10,000 from the general fund to each entity (University of Wyoming board of trustees and the secretary of state's office) for conducting the required study.
  • The exact details on how the seven additional members would be elected or appointed are not specified in this amendment.
  • It is unclear what specific recommendations will come from the study regarding whether a constitutional amendment should be proposed.
