Subject: Modifying the structure of the livestock board. Summary/Major Elements: Modifies the board membership by providing that at least 3 sheep producers and at least 3 cattle producers will be on the board, and allows that if a vacancy exists on the board and no person is available to fill the position, the position can be filled by any livestock producer within the appointment district. Provides for a new full-time position for a director of the livestock board who serves at the pleasure of the state veterinarian. Provides for deputy state veterinarians to serve at the pleasure of the state veterinarian. Provides for deputy directors to serve at the pleasure of the director. Provides an appropriation of $221,500.00 from the general fund.
