Subject: Clean coal research task force. Summary/Major Elements: The act creates a coal research account and appropriates $2,500,000.00 into the account. The act creates a clean coal research task force made up of the members of the Wyoming energy resources council. The task force will issue requests for proposals for research projects into clean coal technologies. Proposals may be received from academic institutions and private industry and will be evaluated competitively on their likely benefits to the state and programs within the state with an emphasis on methods of combusting sub-bituminous coal at high altitudes. The task force will report to the governor and the joint minerals, business and economic development interim committee by September 30, 2007 with recommendations for funding specific proposals from the research account.
