Subject: Increases fees for state parks, recreation areas and historic sites. Summary/Major Elements: The act increases use fees for state parks, recreation areas and historic sites by approximately 30%. The act repeals annual nonresident camping permits. The act allows the department of state parks and cultural resources to charge additional fees for added amenities such as electrical hookups, showers or camping structures which shall not be less than the cost of providing the amenity. Comments: Report Required: Requires the department of state parks and cultural resources to report annually to the joint appropriations committee and the joint travel recreation, wildlife and cultural resources interim committee on revenues and expenditures from the amenities account. Final action on this bill was not taken at the time this summary was prepared. Should changes be made to the bill upon final passage, an updated summary will be transmitted to all legislators.
