2008 General Session Summary for HB0055 Bill No.: HB0055 Drafter: MRW LSO No.: 08LSO-0021 Effective Date: 7/1/2008 Enrolled Act No.: HEA0058 Chapter No.: Prime Sponsor: Joint Agriculture, State and Public Lands and Water Resources Interim Committee Catch Title: Water well drilling and pump installation licensure. Subject: Water well drilling and pump installation contractors licensure. Summary/Major Elements: Current law provides for certification for water well drilling contractors and water well pump installation contractors. The certification will be phased out as the new licensing requirements of this act are implemented. This act: Provides for licensure of water well drilling contractors and water well pump installation contractors and establishes licensing procedures. Creates an account to administer the board's funds from the collection of fees. Provides for license fees and for reciprocity. Provides for examination and continuing education requirements. Provides for license revocation and suspension. Provides for penalties. Comments: Amends the Water Well Drilling Contractors and Water Well Pump Installation Contractors Act. Contains repeal date: Because certification will expire on July 1, 2009, this act provides for sunset of the certification provisions.
