Catch Title: Veterinarian loan repayment program. Subject: Veterinarian student loan repayment program Summary/Major Elements: Current law provides for a loan repayment program for physicians, dentists, allied health care providers and certain health professionals. This act: Authorizes student loan reimbursement for food animal veterinarians to practice in a community in Wyoming from a list developed by the Wyoming Livestock Board. Allows up to 100% of the loan to be repaid to the food animal veterinarian, up to $30,000 per year. Requires the food animal veterinarian to practice for a minimum of 3 years in Wyoming. Provides rulemaking authority to the Wyoming Livestock Board as necessary to carry out this act. Requires a 25% match of the money from any combination of any county, city, veterinary clinic, animal care facility, state agency, university, laboratory or veterinary association. Appropriates $270,000 from the General Fund to the Wyoming Livestock Board to provide for loan repayments under this act.
