Subject: Authorizes an additional district court judge in the 9 th Judicial District as specified. Summary/Major Elements: Currently the 9 th Judicial District is authorized to have 2 district court judges, who reside in Fremont and Teton Counties. This bill: o Authorizes another district court judge for the 9 th Judicial District, who will reside in Sublette County; o Appropriates $732,546.00 to the Supreme Court for the biennium beginning July 1, 2008, to be used for salaries, benefits, office equipment, supplies and fees to implement the office in Sublette County; o Authorizes 4 full-time equivalent positions to implement the purposes of the act; o Provides that no action will be taken to appoint a judge to fill the position until suitable facilities have been completed and are ready for occupancy in Sublette County as specified in the act. Note: Final action on this bill was not taken at this time this summary was prepared. Should changes be made to the bill upon final passage, an updated summary will be transmitted to all legislators.
