2008 General Session Summary for HB0136 Bill No.: HB0136 Drafter: JDA LSO No.: 08LSO-0302 Effective Date: 7/1/2008 Enrolled Act No.: HEA0040 Chapter No.: Prime Sponsor: Representative Cohee Catch Title: Dyed fuel-enforcement. Subject: Inspection of diesel fuel in certain circumstances. Summary/Major Elements: This bill provides authority for a state trooper or special enforcement officer to inspect diesel fuel during an inspection or on probable cause that the vehicle is operating with dyed diesel fuel in the supply tank or tanks. The bill increases the penalty for operating a motor vehicle with dyed diesel fuel in the supply tank to five hundred dollars or five dollars per gallon, whichever is greater.
