Subject: Restrictions on state funded conservation easements. Summary/Major Elements: Through the Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust, the state of Wyoming helps fund conservation easements. This legislation prohibits certain provisions in conservation easements which are funded or partially funded through the Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust . These prohibited provisions include no hunting, fishing or trapping provisions, provisions which mandate specific livestock and crop management practices and provisions which prohibit ranching or farming. The legislation also requires that the state receive certain contractual protections and remedies, when state funds are used to purchase a conservation easement, upon a breach or transfer of the easement.
