Subject: Surety requirements for oil and gas operations involving seismic activities. Summary/Major Elements: This act requires the oil and gas conservation commission to adopt rules requiring a surety bond or other guaranty to be posted to protect the interests of land owners when oil and gas operations involve seismic activities. The act sets minimum surety amounts based upon acreage affected and allows for pooling of small parcels for purposes of meeting minimum bond requirements. The act requires permits for seismic activities to state that the permit is not permission to trespass. The act requires the operator to provide the oil and gas conservation commission evidence that an operator has a right to enter the land.
