Subject: Providing for direct supervision by certified applicators of pesticide applications and providing for reciprocal licenses and restitution related to pesticides. Summary/Major Elements: This bill provides that pesticides applications made for hire shall be applied under the direct supervision of a certified applicator and provides that in certain circumstances direct supervision may allow the certified applicator to be off-site if the applicator is available within a reasonable time and distance. The bill provides rulemaking authority to the department of agriculture related to reciprocal licenses with other jurisdictions. The bill specifies that in addition to other penalties the department may seek restitution for costs related to pesticide violations that cause the department to incur fees or other costs.
