Subject: Snowmobile permit and registration fees. Summary/Major Elements: Under current law resident snowmobiles are subject to a registration fee and a user fee. Nonresident snowmobiles are subject only a user fee. This bill eliminates the resident user fee and increases both the user fee paid upon nonresident snowmobiles and registration fee paid upon resident snowmobiles. The bill increases the price for duplicate certificates if a certificate is lost, mutilated or destroyed. The bill exempts snowmobiles used exclusively on private land from payment of fees.
