A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to appropriations; to amend Laws 2025, LB261,1
section 54; to provide for distribution of appropriations to the2
State Department of Education for a pilot program in a city of the3
metropolitan class; and to repeal the original section.4

Section 1. Laws 2025, LB261, section 54, is amended to read:1

There is included in the appropriation to this program for FY2025-2610
$49,289 General Funds and $8,560,706 Federal Funds estimate for state11
aid, which shall only be used for such purpose. There is included in the12
appropriation to this program for FY2026-27 $49,289 General Funds and13
$8,560,706 Federal Funds estimate for state aid, which shall only be used14
for such purpose. 15
There is included in the appropriation to this program for FY2026-2716
$500,000 General Funds to be used for a multi-trade preapprenticeship17
pilot program serving young adults and preparing them for registered18
apprenticeships and entry-level construction employment within a city of19
the metropolitan class. 20
It is the intent of the Legislature that the Division of21
Rehabilitation Services of the State Department of Education and the22
Division of Developmental Disabilities of the Department of Health and23
Human Services work collaboratively to focus on employment for24
individuals with disabilities and to maximize federal matching funds in25
compliance with the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and26
the federal Home and Community-Based Services Final Rule.27
Sec. 2. Original Laws 2025, LB261, section 54, is repealed.28
