A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to school districts; to provide for mental1
health leave as prescribed; and to declare an emergency.2
Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,3

Section 1. Each full-time employee of a school district shall be1
allowed five days of mental health leave each school fiscal year. The2
employee shall be paid at the employee's usual salary in full for any3
mental health leave used by the employee. Mental health leave shall not4
count against any other leave the employee accrues as a result of working5
for such school district. A school district shall not require or request6
any documentation from a medical or mental health provider to justify the7
use of mental health leave. 8
Sec. 2. Since an emergency exists, this act takes effect when9
passed and approved according to law. 10
