A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to appropriations; to state intent regarding1
appropriations for the Department of Correctional Services.2
Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,3

Section 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to implement a net1
reduction of five million two hundred thousand dollars of General Funds2
for fiscal year 2026-27 for the Department of Correctional Services to3
Program 200, Operations, from the McCook Detention Facility.4
It is the intent of the Legislature that the Department of5
Correctional Services use five million dollars of General Funds for6
fiscal year 2026-27 for tuition, fees, and other direct costs for reentry7
and reintegration programming for committed offenders.8
