A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to fees; to provide a duty for each state1
agency to examine fees charged. 2
Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,3

Section 1. (1) Each year beginning January 1, 2027, each state1
agency shall examine any fee charged and determine whether the fee is2
sufficient, but not exceeding the amount necessary, to cover costs that3
are intended to be covered by the fee. 4
(2) For purposes of this section, state agency means any department,5
agency, board, bureau, or commission of the state. 6
