A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to insurance; to require coverage for cranial1
helmets for certain infants as prescribed. 2
Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,3

Section 1. Notwithstanding section 44-3,131, (a) any individual or1
group sickness and accident insurance policy, certificate, or subscriber2
contract delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed in this state and any3
hospital, medical, or surgical expense-incurred policy, except for short-4
term major medical policies of six months or less duration and policies5
that provide coverage for a specified disease or other limited-benefit6
coverage, and (b) any self-funded employee benefit plan, to the extent7
not preempted by federal law, shall include coverage for cranial helmets8
for infants up to one year of age to treat deformational plagiocephaly or9
craniosynostosis. 10
