A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to the Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant1
Act; to amend section 76-1401, Revised Statutes Supplement, 2025; to2
prohibit landlords from prohibiting or charging extra fees for3
payments made by automated clearinghouse transfer; to harmonize4
provisions; and to repeal the original section.5

Section 1. Section 76-1401, Revised Statutes Supplement, 2025, is1
amended to read: 2
76-1401 Sections 76-1401 to 76-1449 and section 2 of this act shall3
be known and may be cited as the Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant4
Act. 5
Sec. 2. A landlord shall not: 6
(1) Prohibit a tenant from making any payment by means of an7
automated clearinghouse transfer; or 8
(2) Charge a tenant any extra fee for a payment made by means of an9
automated clearinghouse transfer. 10
Sec. 3. Original section 76-1401, Revised Statutes Supplement,11
2025, is repealed. 12
