A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to the University of Nebraska; to amend1
section 85-105, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska; to change2
requirements for the disposition of property as prescribed; and to3
repeal the original section. 4
Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,5

Section 1. Section 85-105, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska, is1
amended to read: 2
85-105 The Board of Regents shall have full power to appoint its own3
presiding officer and secretary. It shall constitute a body corporate, to4
be known as the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, and as5
such may sue and be sued and may make and use a common seal and alter the6
same at pleasure. It may acquire real and personal property for the use7
of the university and may dispose of the same whenever the university can8
be benefited thereby, except that it shall never dispose of grounds upon9
which a building of the university having a market value in excess of one10
million dollars is located without a majority vote of the Board of11
Regents in a public meeting authorizing the university to dispose of such12
property the consent of the Legislature. 13
Sec. 2. Original section 85-105, Reissue Revised Statutes of14
Nebraska, is repealed. 15
