A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to appropriations; to appropriate funds from1
the General Fund to the Military Department for equipment for2
emergency rescue events; and to declare an emergency.3
Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,4

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated $4,000,000 from the General1
Fund for FY2025-26 to the Military Department, for Program No. 545,2
Emergency Management, for a grant for equipment for emergency rescue3
events. To be eligible for a grant, the political subdivision shall show4
to the Military Department that it is capable of assisting in statewide5
rescue events. The grant shall be used exclusively to purchase equipment,6
including, but not limited to, equipment that assists in emergency rescue7
events such as water rescue events, equipment that aides in searching a8
wide area such as tornado and flood situations, equipment used in9
structural collapses, and equipment for hazardous materials situations.10
Sec. 2. Since an emergency exists, this act takes effect when11
passed and approved according to law. 12
