ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 288
Introduced by Sorrentino, 39.
WHEREAS, the Nebraska Department of Education recognized seven schools as
2025 Blue Ribbon Schools; and
WHEREAS, to be named a 2025 Blue Ribbon School, educational institutions
across the state qualified by exhibiting two categories. One, Exemplary High
Performance measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests, and two,
Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing measured by achievement gaps between
different student groups and the overall student body; and
WHEREAS, Hillrise Elementary School located in Elkhorn, Nebraska, received
such honor as it is a school where students are the number one priority and the
dedicated staff and supportive school community provide a safe and respectful
learning environment; and
WHEREAS, Hillrise Elementary School implements a rigorous curriculum and
provides students with high levels of achievement by delivering effective
evidence-based strategies to develop student's ability for life-long learning;
and
WHEREAS, Hillrise Elementary School's faculty members foster student's
growth with intention by greeting each student at the start of every day thus
promoting student's self-worth and sense of hope; and
WHEREAS, Hillrise Elementary School's continued dedication to its
students, educators, and community deserves recognition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates Hillrise Elementary School for being
named a Nebraska Department of Education 2025 Blue Ribbon School.
2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to Hillrise Elementary School.
