ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 289
Introduced by Sorrentino, 39.
WHEREAS, the Nebraska Department of Education recognized seven schools as
2025 Blue Ribbon Schools; and
WHEREAS, to be named a 2025 Blue Ribbon School, educational institutions
across the state qualified by exhibiting two categories. One, Exemplary High
Performance measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests, and two,
Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing measured by achievement gaps between
different student groups and the overall student body; and
WHEREAS, Mount Michael Benedictine School received such honor as it is a
school of effective and innovative practices fostering core values of
community, hospitality, integrity, moderation, and service; and
WHEREAS, Mount Michael Benedictine School is a college-preparatory school
for young men that values academic excellence, personal growth, strong
character development, and a close-knit and faith-filled environment; and
WHEREAS, Mount Michael Benedictine School's faculty members serve as
expert educators that value student's well-being serving as their mentors,
coaches, and role models; and
WHEREAS, Mount Michael Benedictine School's continued dedication to its
students, educators, and community deserves recognition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates Mount Michael Benedictine School for
being named a Nebraska Department of Education 2025 Blue Ribbon School.
2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to Mount Michael Benedictine
School.
