WHEREAS, Ken Lonowski of Waverly, Nebraska, has displayed tremendous
public service during his life; and
WHEREAS, Ken served for twenty-eight years in the United States Army and
Nebraska Army National Guard; and
WHEREAS, Ken received a Presidential unit citation and numerous service
medals and awards; and
WHEREAS, Ken served in the Eighty-second Airborne and was named
Paratrooper of the Year in 1995; and
WHEREAS, Ken moved to a military intelligence unit and was selected as one
of only fifty-four in the United States Military for a team that specialized in
weapons of mass destruction and terrorist activities; and
WHEREAS, Ken retired from the United States Army in 2011 and was hired by
the Nebraska State Patrol for a security position in the Nebraska State Capitol
on March 21, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Ken has served as a Security Guard, in Security Communications,
and as Shift Supervisor for the Nebraska State Patrol; and
WHEREAS, Ken has set the standard for others on the Capitol Security team
to follow and he was named Supervisor of the Year in 2021; and
WHEREAS, Ken loves working with others and bringing smiles to people's
faces; and
WHEREAS, Ken retired on January 9, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Ken and his wife, Chris, have four children, Kalvin, Tony,
Ashley, and Mikayla, as well as several grandchildren.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature recognizes Ken Lonowski for his many years of
public service and thanks Ken for his lifelong contributions to our country and
the State of Nebraska.
2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to Ken Lonowski.
