ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 326
Introduced by DeKay, 40.
WHEREAS, the 2025 NSAA Class D Girls State Cross County Championships were
held in Kearney, Nebraska, on October 24; and
WHEREAS, Avery Arens of Crofton High School ran a 17:28 for the five-
kilometer race breaking the previous record of 17:57 and earning her an
individual state title; and
WHEREAS, after Arens finished the race, her focus shifted to her fellow
teammates cheering them on towards the finish line; and
WHEREAS, Arens' dedication to the love of running and her teammates
deserves recognition; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature recognizes the academic, athletic, and artistic
achievements of the youth of our state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates Avery Arens of Crofton High School
for winning the 2025 NSAA Class D Girls State Cross Country Championship race.
2. That copies of this resolution be sent to Avery Arens and Crofton High
School.
