WHEREAS, Fred Hotz faithfully served the community of Grand Island and
surrounding areas of Hall County in the Grand Island Fire Department for forty
years; and
WHEREAS, Fred joined the department on February 3, 1985, and during his
tenure served as the Chief of Fire Prevention for over twenty-two years; and
WHEREAS, Fred retired from the Grand Island Fire Department on March 7,
2025; and
WHEREAS, as the longest serving member of the Grand Island Fire
Department, Fred's knowledge and leadership will be missed; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature recognizes Fred's dedication to the safety of the
citizens of Grand Island and the surrounding areas of Hall County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates Fred Hotz on his retirement from the
Grand Island Fire Department.
2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to Fred Hotz.
