ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 351

Introduced by Ballard, 21.
WHEREAS, the 2025 Nebraska School Activities Association Class B Football
Championship was held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Memorial Stadium in
Lincoln, Nebraska; and
WHEREAS, the Waverly Vikings football team accomplished a historic and
monumental season winning the 2025 Class B Championship; and
WHEREAS, the Waverly Vikings football team won their first state
championship since 1980 and remained undefeated this season; and
WHEREAS, Waverly head coach Reed Manstedt and his staff displayed
tremendous leadership and propelled the Vikings to victory; and
WHEREAS, Waverly senior running back Nathan Axmann had 277 rushing yards
scored three touchdowns during the final game; and
WHEREAS, Waverly quarterback Brockston Teply completed 8 out of 11 passes
with a total distance of 138 yards and assisted with two touchdowns during the
final game; and
WHEREAS, Waverly's wide receiver Gavin McMillan had three catches for 44
yards and scored two touchdowns; and
WHEREAS, such a team achievement is made possible through the support of
teachers, administrators, parents, and the community; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature recognizes the academic, athletic, and artistic
achievements of the youth of our state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates the Waverly Vikings football team
for winning the 2025 Nebraska School Activities Association Class B
Championship title while remaining undefeated throughout the season.
