ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 364
Introduced by Clements, 2.
WHEREAS, Dr. Bob Bleicher was awarded the 2025 Copic Humanitarian Award by
the Nebraska Medical Association and Copic Insurance; and
WHEREAS, the award is presented annually to honor a physician who
demonstrates meaningful volunteer work in improving healthcare in their local
community; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bleicher resides in Eagle, Nebraska, and has spent his career
as an internal medicine physician and pulmonologist dedicated to providing care
to his community for over forty years; and
WHEREAS, after leaving his pulmonary practice, Dr. Bleicher became board
certified in hospice and palliative medicine and opened HoriSun Hospice which
has become one of the premier hospice service providers in Lincoln, Nebraska;
and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bleicher has supported Lancaster County Medical Society's
Medical Assistance Program, which helps thousands of patients each year access
medical specialty care; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bleicher has volunteered countless hours at Clinic with a
Heart, a free clinic serving uninsured and underinsured patients, by providing
care and support with humility and kindness, often stepping in to cover
additional shifts as needed; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bleicher has served in various leadership roles for the Osher
Lifelong Learning Institute, a program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
that develops and offers educational programs for individuals over fifty years
of age; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bleicher serves on the board of Bluestem Health, a federally
qualified health center, where he supports connecting providers and patients

with community programs; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bleicher chose three healthcare organizations, Clinic with a
Heart, the Nebraska Medical Association Foundation, and the Lancaster County
Medical Society Foundation to receive a portion of the ten thousand dollar
donation associated with the award; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bleicher and his wife Dr. Stacie Bleicher are exemplary
models of altruism and community-mindedness.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates Dr. Bleicher as recipient of the
2025 Copic Humanitarian Award and extends its appreciation for his service to
the State of Nebraska.
2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to Dr. Bob Bleicher.
