ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 368
Introduced by Spivey, 13; Cavanaugh, J., 9; McKinney, 11; Rountree, 3.
WHEREAS, Salem Baptist Church has long stood as a pillar of faith,
service, and strength within its community and has built an enduring legacy of
servant leadership, spiritual guidance, advocacy, and unity; and
WHEREAS, for generations, Salem Baptist Church has provided a place of
hope, fellowship, and outreach that positively impacts the lives of countless
individuals and families; and
WHEREAS, the installation of a pastor represents both a sacred calling and
a significant milestone in the life of a congregation, symbolizing continuity
of faith and renewal of vision; and
WHEREAS, on March 6 through March 8, 2026, installation services will be
held to formally install Pastor Jarvis A. Ellis, Sr. as senior pastor of Salem
Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Ellis assumes this role upon the strong foundation
established by faithful leaders who have shaped Salem Baptist Church into the
impactful institution it is today; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature commends Salem Baptist Church for its
longstanding service and positive impact within the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates Pastor Jarvis A. Ellis, Sr. on the
occasion of his installation as Pastor of Salem Baptist Church.
2. That a copy of this resolution be presented to Pastor Jarvis A. Ellis,
Sr. as an expression of the Legislature's respect and best wishes for a tenure
marked by wisdom, grace, and abundant blessings for the entire Salem church
family.
