ONE HUNDRED NINTH LEGISLATURE
SECOND SESSION
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION 369

Introduced by Wordekemper, 15.
WHEREAS, the 2026 Nebraska School Activities Association State Swimming
and Diving Championships were held at the Devaney Center Natatorium in Lincoln,
Nebraska; and
WHEREAS, the Fremont High School Tigers boys swim team won the 200
freestyle relay marking the first time in ninety years that a team outside of
the Lincoln or Omaha metro areas has won the relay event; and
WHEREAS, the second leg of Fremont's 200 freestyle relay team, Elliot
Vech, won the individual 100 and 200 freestyle swimming championship titles,
the first individual wins by a Fremont swimmer at state since 1973; and
WHEREAS, such a team achievement is made possible through the support of
teachers, administrators, parents, and the community; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature recognizes the academic, athletic, and artistic
achievements of the youth of our state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE ONE HUNDRED NINTH
LEGISLATURE OF NEBRASKA, SECOND SESSION:
1. That the Legislature congratulates the Fremont High School boys swim
team on winning the boys 200 freestyle relay championship title at the 2026
Nebraska School Activities Association State Swimming and Diving Championships.
2. That the Legislature congratulates Elliot Vech on winning the boys 100
and 200 individual freestyle championship titles at the 2026 Nebraska School
Activities Association State Swimming and Diving Championships.
3. That copies of this resolution be sent to the Fremont High School boys
swim team and Elliot Vech.
